Responsibilities
- Lead the Game Economy function across multiple titles, with ownership of the economic vision, strategy, and execution.
- Design, balance, and optimize in-game economies, including currencies, sinks, sources, pricing, and progression systems, to maximize engagement and monetization.
- Develop long-term economic frameworks and ensure scalability and sustainability across games.
- Build, mentor, and guide a team of game economy designers, fostering excellence and innovation.
- Monitor and analyze economic KPIs, player behaviors, and market trends to identify imbalances and opportunities. Translate insights into actionable design improvements.
- Partner with product managers, analysts, monetization, design, and development teams to align economy strategies with business goals and product roadmaps.
- Drive A/B testing, modeling, and forecasting to validate design decisions and optimize performance.
- Ensure the player experience remains central, delivering fun, fair, and rewarding gameplay that encourages long-term engagement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in game economy design, including leadership or strategic roles.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of game monetization models, player progression, and retention strategies.
- Advanced analytical and Excel skills; proficiency with SQL and game telemetry tools.
- Strong track record in building and balancing complex game economies at scale.
- Experience with puzzle, merge, or casual mobile games – strong advantage.
- Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights and business impact.
